Tree Planting at Lonan (near Laxey), 11.00 a.m. on Sunday, 25th January 2015
We have been asked to plant 150 trees at a 4 x 4 “Off-road” training area above Laxey, to create shelter and an attractive wildlife habitat. The ground is a bit rougher than our last few plantings.
We will be meeting at 11.00 a.m., and will have hot soup, coffee, tea and cakes for everyone afterwards. Please wear warm clothes and stout shoes or boots. If you could bring strong gardening gloves it would be a great help, and we will have plenty of spades available.
DIRECTIONS:
Take the A2 road from Laxey towards Onchan. About one mile out of Laxey, look for the small road on your RIGHT to Lonan Church. Take this road, but instead of bearing left towards the church, carry on along the narrow road (facing towards Laxey) for half a mile then BEAR LEFT (to Lonan) then carry on for a quarter of a mile until you can take another narrow road on your LEFT. Carry on for about a quarter of a mile and MOANEY WOOD FARM is on your LEFT. We can park in the farmyard.
