Below is a list of species that we occasionally plant, some much more than others. There are many aspects to consider when choosing the right species, such as site conditions in the list below.
- if a building or infrastructure such as a power line is close, a small tree is more appropriate than an oak that might throw shade on the windows and leaves on the roof
- are there native species that might achieve better results for wildlife than the trees you had in mind?
- a mix of species usually is more desirable than monocultures and limits disease risks
