Our planting down the north this week went very well. The rain radar forecast was miserable; prolonged steady rain. And driving north – to our most northerly planting yet – I was met with four foot wide rivers of rainwater rushing down every hill.
But magically no sooner had we arrived and got organized, the rain stopped and off we went. Easy planting in the moist soil! The weather had deterred a good turnout but nine of us soon put in 120 trees. That took us to over 2000 trees for the season so far. With another 400 before summer we shall record our second highest total yet. And we already have bookings for 860 to go in in the autumn.
Next week we are in Glen Chass near Port St Mary; hope to see you there!
